What we collect, why, and what we don't do with it
replaceyourlock.com is run by Your Nest Security Services Ltd. We collect only what we need to measure your lock, deliver your order, send a locksmith, or keep the site working. We don't sell your data and we don't send marketing you haven't asked for.

1. What we collect and why
- Orders: name, email, mobile number, delivery address and, for businesses, company name, VAT number and PO reference. Used to deliver your order, send confirmations and updates, and keep accounting records. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, then our legal obligation to keep records (6 years).
- Payments: handled by Stripe on their secure page. We never see or store your card number. Stripe gives us the amount, the last four digits and the payment status. Stripe's own policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Photo lock finder: the photo you take is sent to our measuring service, where an AI model outlines and measures the cylinder. We keep the photo and the measurement so we can check accuracy and improve the tool; it's a picture of a lock on a sheet of paper, not of you, and we ask you not to include anything personal in it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing and improving the service. Tell us if you'd like a photo deleted.
- Locksmith bookings: name, mobile, postcode and what's happened. Shared only with the locksmith assigned to you so they can quote and attend. Legal basis: performing the contract you asked for.
- Burglaries near you: the postcode or town you type is sent to postcodes.io or OpenStreetMap to find coordinates, then to data.police.uk for crime records. None of these receive your name, and we don't store the search.
- Basket: stored in your own browser until you check out. It never leaves your device until you place the order.
- Analytics: Google Analytics tells us which pages are used and how the site performs. IP addresses are truncated by Google. You can block it with a browser setting or extension and the site works exactly the same.
- Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to deal with your question, order or return.
2. Who we share it with
Only the people needed to do what you asked: Stripe (payment), our courier and supplier (delivery of your order, which means your name and address go on the parcel), the locksmith you book, and the hosting and email providers that run the site. All are bound by contract to use your data only for that purpose. We don't sell, rent or swap your details with anyone.
3. How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years, for tax and warranty purposes.
- Locksmith booking details: 12 months after the job, so the fitting guarantee can be honoured.
- Lock finder photos and measurements: up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Emails: as long as the matter is open, then 12 months.
4. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email [email protected] or write to the address above; we reply within one month. If you're not happy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
5. Cookies
We use one kind of cookie: Google Analytics measurement cookies, so we can see how the site is used. Stripe sets its own on its payment page for fraud prevention. Your basket uses browser storage, not a cookie, and nothing in it is sent to us until you check out. We don't use advertising cookies.
6. Security
The site and the measuring service run over HTTPS. Payments are taken by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Order records are stored on a server in the UK with access limited to the people who process orders.
7. Changes
If this policy changes we'll update the date below; anything that affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you about by email.
